Officer's Kershaw Pattern Shako

 A fine example of the private purchased caps worn by many  of the officers  of light infantry and flank  companies. This hat  is taken  from an example worn  by Leftenant Kershaw.

This is a single piece moulded fur felt shako. With sunken glazed leather top, hand stitched.
Leather sweatband with  silk adjuster and fully silk lined

Black or dark  green cords with twin tassel ends

Gilt chinscales with large gilt rose boses and a pleated velvet turban.
