This cartridge pouch is based from a surviving example recovered from a French battlefield.

This style was in use untill the late 1740. when the more traditional solid box type replaced it.

Made  of naturally dyed heavy leather outer flap with a two part top. Two buff leather straps to  the rear with two  4" 'double D' buckles. A third 4" buckle joins the shoulderbelt strap in the front.

A large waxed leather flap covers a soft leather pouch inside. Inside this bag are 20 tinplate  tubes for cartridges.
