Introduced in 1802, this cap replaced the earlier 1768 pattern cap .

Made from black goat hide over a leather carcas. 16" high with 12" feather plume. Dropped rear with front peak.
Leather sweatband and linen adjuster band.
White worsted cords and tassels.

The front plate is a Foot Guard design, produced until 1802when it was replaced with a new design of plate.
It bears a similarity to the 1768 pattern plate, but has the full royal arms in the centre. Brass plated copper.
