Commonly called the 'Belgic Shako' , this is the 1812 infantry cap.
Introduced in 1812 to replace the earlier Stovepipe cap of 1804-12.
Hand blocked in a single fur felt with with a gently curved dropped rear.
Raised front plate bound in ribbon.
Leather sweatband with glazed linen adjuster.and fully silk lined inside
Rear leather falling sun guard.
Leather peak, black silk cocade.
Red & gold plaited cords with twin gilt bullion fringe tassels.
6" Feather plume in centre and flank company colours with internal leather holder.
Optional extras include small gilt or silver bugle or grenade badge on the cocade for flank company units.
Front plate the sheild shaped 1812 plate, with central GR device. Optional regimental numbered plate are available to commission.
Matt burnished gold plated copper.
