Introduced in 1768, this cap replaced the earlier embroidered pattern cap .

Made from black goat or bear hide over a linen carcas with an internal tin front. Red patch to rear. Leather sweatband and linen head liner.
White worsted cords and tassels.

Rear pewter grenade bage bearing regimental number

The front plate is the the 1768 pattern plate, with heraldic helmet and Hanoverian motto. Tinned copper and black laquer
